To all paddlers,

We are excited to announce that the 4th JAPAN CUP in Minami Izu will be held on April 18 (Sat) – 19 (Sun), 2026. This event marks an important milestone as we enter our fourth season as Va’a Japan.

Over the past three seasons, we have grown this race together with paddlers and clubs across Japan. Each year, participation has continued to increase, and the event has now become a race that welcomes not only paddlers from all over Japan, but also a growing number of international competitors.

With this continued growth and increasing international participation, we have decided to rename what was previously held as the “Japan National Championships” final race in Minami Izu to the Japan Cup, with the goal of creating a more internationally open and recognized event.

The Japan Cup is not only a place for Japan’s paddlers to compete at the highest level, but also a stage where paddlers from around the world can meet on the ocean, push each other, and grow together.

Our goal is to develop this event into one of the most respected races in the global OC1 racing scene.

We truly look forward to seeing you in April, and welcoming you to the incredible waters of Minami Izu.

We can’t wait to have you on the start line.

Va’a Japan Race Director
Kenny Kaneko
